Celebrating with Red, White and Blue

As July 4, 2008 come to a close, I think about the events of the day and the simple pleasures surrounding the rituals of Independence Day. We started by attending a neighborhood parade with a dixieland band in the back of a truck, children proudly riding their tricycles decorated with crepe streamers, the group singing patriotic songs and ringing a bell for each of the 13 colonies, and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Next was a barbecue with more dixieland, hot dogs and a spectacular belly flop contest. As you can image, size matters in the belly flop contest. We finished the day watching a fireworks display and then tucked in our own little American girl. This list of activities is duplicated throughout the country each and every year.

The colors red, white and blue are symbolic of our national pride and should be enjoyed on other days besides July Fourth. This adorable personalized lunch box is a great way for your children to "wave the flag" and it is also a great place for little ones to store crayons and toys. It is also lead-free (did you know that many lunch boxes contain high amounts of lead?). The personalized lunch box is available in this and other colors for $29.00 http://somethingaboutbaby.com/item_1263/Personalized-Lunch-Box--Red-Blue-Stripe.htm

I hope that you and your families enjoyed a wonderful Independence Day and celebrated our country's birthday. Thank you for stopping by and take care.
